Sanitation Worker – NYC

Duties:  As a NYC Sanitation Worker you are responsible for street cleaning, waste collection, recycling collection, snow removal, waste disposal and other duties that may be required by the Sanitation Department. Employees will be required to operate various types of equipment or vehicles in order to perform their duties.

Salary Range: Starts at $ $33,746.

Salary will increase to $36,607  after six months.  Base salary  will then increase to $69,339 per year after the completion of five and one half years of employment.
After 5 years, employees receive longevity pay of $1,495, 10 years is $2,395, 15 years is $3,295 and 20 years is $4,195.

Requirements:

(1) You must have a four-year high school diploma or its
educational equivalent by the time of appointment.

(2) Must pass a background investigation

(3) Must Pass a drug/alcohol tests.

(4) Must pass a medical exam.

(5) Must be at least 21 yrs old to be appointed.
However  you must be at least 17 ½ years of age by the end of the application period to take this examination.

(7) By the date of appointment, you must have a valid New
York State CDL Class A or B License with an “N” Tank Vehicles endorsement; no “K” (not valid outside
N.Y.S.) Intrastate only restriction; and no Air Brake restrictions such as these restrictions  listed HERE.
