Duties:  Police Officers with Westchester County And Local Police agencies  are responsible for enforcing Federal, county and municipal laws and ordinances. Officers are hired by the county or local towns and villages. Vacancies will be filled in the Department of Public Safety Services, the cities of Peekskill and Rye and the towns and villages within the county.

Starting Salary :  Varies with Appointing Authority
County Police Officer (PA1) Salary Step 01- $55,297  to
Step 05 -$101,058  (Effective January 1, 2014)

Requirements to be appointed:

(1) U.S. Citizenship required

(2) Must have a background investigation

(3) Must have a valid State Driver’s License

(4) You must be at least 20 years of age and not older than 35  as of the date when the applicant takes the written examination.
(However, there is no minimum age requirement to take the examination).

(5) At the time of examination, either: (A) Graduation from a standard senior high school; or (B) possession of a high school equivalency diploma or a USAFIGED.

(6) Additional requirements required to be hired.
