Job Title: Environmental Police Officer
Agency: New York City Department Of Environmental Protection
Duties: Environmental Police Officers for New York City Department Of Environmental Protection are responsible for patrolling the watershed area, reservoir areas, installations, and other sites maintained by the Department of Environmental Protection.
Starting Salary: The current minimum salary is $50,686 per annum for the first 26 weeks and $58,148 after the first 26 weeks. Incumbents at Assignment Level I will receive salary increments reaching $77,861 per annum after 6 ½ years.

There are positions available in Bronx, Westchester, Dutchess, Greene, Sullivan, Putnam, Delaware, Ulster, Orange, or Schoharie Counties.
Qualifications:
At the time of appointment.
(1)U.S. Citizenship
(2)High school diploma or GED plus 30 college semester credits at an accredited college or university with at least a 2.0 cumulative index or its equivalent, or two years of honorable full-time U.S. military service or one year of law enforcement experience.
(3)Pass the open competitive exam.
(4)Must be at least 16 1/2 yrs old at the time of exam.
(5)Minimum age for appointment is 20 yrs old.
(6)Must not be older than age 35 at time of application, except for active duty federal military. Military personnel can add up to 6 yrs to this requirement.
