Duties: Correctional Officers with the Bureau of Prisons/Federal Prison System are responsible for providing supervision, care and correctional treatment of inmates. 

Salary range:   $43,065 to $61,987 per year

• Additional incentives such as Recruitment Bonus up to 25% and retention incentives may be offered. Please see Additional Information Section for those Institutions offering incentives.

Requirements:

(2) Must have a background investigation

(3) Maximum entry age of 36. Exceptions apply.

(4) Pass an interview

(5) Pass a medical exam

(7) Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university,
Or at least 3 years of full-time general experience, one year of specialized experience for Grade GL-05

(8) Additional requirements may be required to be hired.
