Minimum Qualifications: On or before the date of filing your application, you must have:
For No. 20-786 Information Technology Specialist 1:
Either 1. An associate’s or higher-level degree in computer science, computer information systems, telecommunications, or management information systems; OR
2. a minimum of 60 college semester credit hours including at least 15 credit hours in computer science; OR
3. a total of one year of experience in the following computer related areas: network, server, storage, and systems management; telecommunications; IT customer support and training; computer installation, diagnosis and repair; technical writing; computer security; knowledge management; database administration, design and management; internet/intranet development, design, and maintenance; information technology project management; design and development of geographic information systems or computer aided drafting applications; computer programming; business/systems analysis; program design; or program testing.
For No. 20-788 Information Technology Specialist 2:
Either 1. A bachelor’s or higher-level degree in computer science, computer information systems, telecommunications, or management information systems; OR
2. a bachelor’s or higher-level degree, including or supplemented by 15 credit hours in computer science courses; OR
3. a bachelor’s or higher-level degree in any field and at least one year of the experience described in #3 for Examination No. 20-786; OR
4. a minimum of 60 college semester credit hours including at least 15 credit hours in computer science courses and one year of the experience described in #3 for Examination No. 20‑786; OR
5. a total of two years of experience as described in #3 for Examination No. 20-786.
For No. 20-787 Information Technology Specialist 1 (Programming):
Either 1. An associate’s or higher-level degree in computer science, computer information systems, telecommunications, or management information systems; OR
2. a minimum of 60 college semester credit hours including at least 15 credit hours in computer science including or supplemented by 9 credit hours in programming languages; OR
3. a total of one year of experience in the following computer related areas: computer programming; business/systems analysis; program design; or program testing.
For No. 20-789 Information Technology Specialist 2 (Programming):
Either 1. A bachelor’s or higher-level degree in computer science, computer information systems, telecommunications, or management information systems; OR
2. a bachelor’s or higher-level degree in any field including or supplemented by 15 credit hours in computer science with at least 9 credit hours in programming languages; OR
3. a bachelor’s or higher-level degree in any field and at least one year of the experience described in #3 for Examination No. 20-787; OR
4. a minimum of 60 college semester credit hours including at least 15 credit hours in computer science courses and one year of the experience described in #3 for Examination No. 20‑787; OR
5. a total of two years of experience as described in #3 for Examination No. 20-787.
