Duties: NYS Court Officer Trainees are responsible for maintaining order and providing security in Courthouses, buildings, grounds and other areas. NYS Court officer Trainees are Peace Officers, and are authorized to make arrests, execute bench warrants and may be authorized to carry firearms. This is only a partial example of the duties performed by NYS Court Officer trainees.
Starting salary: $39,771 plus $3,697 location pay for
appointees in New York City, Suffolk, Rockland, Nassau and Westchester.
Appointees in Orange, Dutchess and Putnam Counties will receive $1,848 in annual location pay.
