Duties: Transportation Security Officer (TSO) with the Transportation Security Administration are responsible for security and protection of air travelers, airports and aircraft. In addition they are responsible for providing directions and responding to inquiries from the public.

Salary range: $39,408 to $56,297 per year.

Requirements: (Partial List)

(1) U.S. Citizenship or U.S National

(2) Must have a background investigation

(3) Must Pass a drug tests

(4) Selective Service registration for males

(5) Must be at least 18 yrs old

(6) Credit:  Applicants must not have delinquent Federal or State taxes, past due child support payments, and must not have defaulted on $7,500 or more in delinquent debt (except for some bankruptcies).

(7) Have a high school diploma, General Educational Development (GED), High School Equivalency Test (HiSET), or Test Assessing Secondary Completion (TASC) credential OR at least one year of full-time work experience in the security industry, aviation screening, or as an X-ray technician.

(8) Be proficient in the English language (i.e., able to read, write, speak, and comprehend).
