NYC Health + Hospitals is accepting applications for Special Officer, Exam No. 7329 — a peace officer position within NYC H+H’s Hospital Police unit. Special Officers at H+H protect patients, staff, and visitors at NYC’s public hospital system, which includes 11 acute care hospitals, post-acute care facilities, neighborhood health centers, and correctional health facilities across the five boroughs.
This exam is specifically for NYC Health + Hospitals positions only. A separate Special Officer exam (Exam No. 7327) covered DCAS-jurisdiction City agencies and closed September 22. If you’re interested in both, you would have needed to apply separately — only the H+H version (this exam) is still open. This is also a distinct employer from standard City agencies: NYC H+H has its own salary scale, seniority system, and collective bargaining agreement, which matters if you’re currently a City employee considering a transfer.
Multiple-choice test expected Monday, December 7, 2026. $61 application fee — waivers available. NYC H+H facilities only. Starting salary $40,480/yr. Exam No. 7329.
